Princess and
the destinations were world class! The land of Vikings, trolls, and czars
had a fairytale like quality. Perfect weather, gorgeous ship, amenities

Q. Is Europe
expensive?
A. Absolutely! A small cup of Starbucks coffee was almost $4.00.
The cruise was the perfect answer to our US dollar woes. Economical, consistent
quality, unpack once.
Hello Friends,
One week prior to departure, I got
cleared for the cruise. After finding a willing and able friend to join me
on the cruise we scurried to take care of last minute daycare issues and to
rearrange our schedules. Luckily we have passports and are able to pull a
trip together at short notice (as well as accommodating husbands.) I found
a roundtrip air ticket for $1,200 to travel from Southern California to
Copenhagen. The Copenhagen airport is very nice, modern and orderly. The
Princess team at the arrivals/baggage area was plentiful and very helpful.
Probably the best meet and greet team that I have seen to date.
Some highlights of the cruise are:
- Retracing the steps of the Vikings in Sweden,
Norway and Finland
- Sailing into Stockholm, Sweden
- Watching the sunrise in St. Petersburg
- Taking a local train trip in Poland from
Gdynia into Gdansk.
- Sailing out of Oslo, Norway and watching the
sailboats litter the seas
- Traipsing through the Winter Palace -
Hermitage museum with thousands of other tourists
- Slowly meandering through the canals and Neva
river on the Venice of the North shore excursion in Russia.
- Exploring the ship
If you have a inkling of desire to
satisfy a Europe vacation urge, I would strongly recommend taking a cruise.

Crown Princess in Oslo, Norway June 8, 2008
Crown Princess Ship Notes
To say the ship is huge is an understatement. There are about 19 decks and
when looking up from the ground one is dwarfed. The ship was built in June
2006. She has a passenger capacity of 3080, 1200 crew members with a gross
tonnage of 116,000. The ship is 951 feet long. There are 1557 total cabins
with 1105 of those outside and 452 inside cabins. There is ample space for
passengers to roam without feeling the crunch of the crowds. Overall the public
rooms are sophisticated and well appointed. There is a good mix of country club
casual and contemporary design throughout. The ship is clean and spacious.
